Working on the kitchen cabinet repair and granite countertop replacement in San Marcos was one of those projects that really let me dive into my craft. As is often the case with rentals, the renter didn’t notice or report a crack in the granite countertop right away. This led to water leaking into the cabinetry and even affecting the wall behind. Once on site, I knew this job would require more than just a surface-level fix.
I started by carefully removing the damaged granite and assessing the extent of the water damage. Some of the wood panels needed replacing, which involved cutting and fitting new pieces perfectly to match the existing cabinetry. I always aim for precision in my work, and this project was no exception. The challenge was not only to repair but to ensure that everything was structurally sound for the long term.
The highlight for me was replacing the entire granite countertop. It’s always satisfying to see a space transform, and there’s something about installing a fresh slab of granite that really ties a kitchen together. I worked closely with the landlord to pick a durable and stylish granite that would stand up to future use. Seeing the finished product, knowing it’s built to last, is what makes my job truly rewarding.
